The Top Ten Best Things of 2006

It is that time of the year again - to review the happenings of this year....I mean....a lot has happened to me over the last two years...and a LOT of them have been shit!!! However, in all the crap - crappety - crap crap crap I have experienced - surely there must have been some positives - THERE HAS TO BE!!!!! Since this year was more crap for me than last year, I have decided to only focus on 2006!!! I have compiled a list of the top 10 things that have happened for me, to me or around me and perhaps when you look back or forward at some of these things...in the limelight....you might just realise that this year wasn't so bad after all...it is just how you perceive it! As once quoted (somewhere - can't remember where...) "It's not what happens to you, It's what you do about it."

10. The Borat Movie - AWESOME!!!!!!!!

9. That Lord Mayor John So was crowned World's Best Mayor 2006 - "please enjoy" (however for my future campaign I will need to esnure that I meet this challenge and too, am crowned World's Best Mayor 2050)

8. That I have finally left Cooks' Cottage and getting somewhere in my career (once again...this is slowly but surely..however I do miss "Kooke's Koohrtage*" and my friends there *indian accent)

7. The Kylie Minogue concert is back on (and that the Pop Princess is well and fully recovered!)

6. That I had a Birthday Party with all the people that count and that was belly shaking fun!!!

5. Getting my rennovations underway and actually working on the house (which has given me the biggest sense of achievement)

4. Celebrating Eid (bigger than last year) with my wonderful work colleagues and friends

3. That I am slowly moving on after separating from Rhys (it is taking time though - but surely and slowly I am getting there)

2. That I finally hold, learnt and discovered true appreciation from my beautiful friends and family (it is not until you go through a troubled time or get married and are away from them so much, that you realise when you are with them, how much you love them and how much they mean to you)

and finally - taking the top spot of number one for the year 2006...drum roll please....

1. Dylan and Tessa's Engagement (congratulations to the both fo you!!!). If God/Fate/Life was to choose a couple to be the MOST loving, positive, fantastic, heart warming, gorgeous, happy, inspirational, funny, mature, ahead and ultimate couple - it would surely be the two of you!!!!! I wish you all the best and just everything possible and it was the one that topped my list for 2006!!! (I wish someone told me this before I got married - however I am definitely going to use it if I ever get married again (another quote from yet another unknown - who comes up with these...really you should give your name and take the credit cause they're good!)
